At Palladium Hotel Group, we consider that the key lies in addressing social issues and working to achieve equal opportunities. To do this, we launch projects to support our communities and run innovative vocational training campaigns and projects to foster social inclusion and protection.
We design vocational training centres in South and Central America to offer local communities the opportunity to get professional training. To kick off this Palladium Cares campaign, we are working to create two centres:
- Jamaica: We have signed a three-way partnership agreement with the Municipality of Lucea and the national Heart Institution organisation, to deliver and certify vocational training.
- Costa Mujeres, Mexico: We carried out a social and economic study of the Isla Mujeres area in collaboration with Fundación Origen, a Mexican organisation that provides holistic care for vulnerable people. Through this study, we seek to establish agreements with local institutions and identify the sectors with the greatest employment demand in the area.
Moreover, we keep strengthening the Instituto Imbassaí training centre, where we have launched new professional training courses for the hospitality sector.
The annual Palladium Cares campaign in Europe focuses on four social causes: Child protection, reducing inequality, caring for the planet, and assisting elderly people.
Each season will have a specific campaign with initiatives carried out by Palladium Hotel Group hotels in Europe, along with their teams and assistance from specialised NGOs that work professionally in the territories where we operate.
We are deeply involved with this campaign, and we want to support the community through active participation. Caring by doing is our motto. Therefore, the initiatives include volunteering opportunities for our teams -who will also oversee the selection of the NGOs for each campaign-, activities to carry out in different spaces in our hotels, assistance projects and raising money through donations from our guests when they check out at the end of their stay.
The team of BLESS Hotel Madrid runs a variety of workshops with children from different institutions such as Fundación Balia, which improves the inclusion of vulnerable children, and Fundación Down Madrid, which provides support to families and people with Down syndrome. During these workshops, children do crafts and cooking activities with different themes such as Christmas and Halloween.
At Only YOU Hotels, we have partnered up with El sueño de Vicky, a foundation that raises funds for research into childhood cancer. We also participated in a charity evening organised by the Tu Ayuda Association.
To mark World Autism Day, Hard Rock Hotel Marbella donated a total of 90 m2 of laminate flooring to renovate the facilities of the Asociación Principito, a non-profit created by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, whose purpose is to improve their quality of life.
Palladium Hotel Group hotels collaborate by donating toys to children in different organisations. For example, Dominican Fiesta Hotel & Casino donates toys to children at Jardin del Cielo and Casa FACCI, a non-profit that houses children with cancer.
Only YOU Valencia collaborates with the Mare Project, run by Obra Social Desamparados, which provides assistance and education to vulnerable women. The collaboration is based on making plush sheep soft toys with a group of women at risk of marginalisation.
Talks on family violence and self-defence are given to female team members at Palladium Hotel Group. These talks teach women how to defend themselves and provide information about public and private institutions that offer legal advice and psychological support.
Palladium Hotel Group brands participate in an awareness campaign launched by Fundación Integra as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of helping women who are victims of violence to find employment.
International Breast Cancer Awareness Month takes place in October every year. Palladium Hotel Group hotels carry out various initiatives to promote early detection of breast cancer with a series of activities throughout the month, such as races and the donation of €1 per breakfast sold in our hotels.
The Human Resources team at Only YOU Hotels is part of Fundación Integra’s Empowerment School. It runs workshops for people at risk of social exclusion, offering tools to help them find a job.
At Riviera Maya, we collaborate with the AITANA Foundation A. C whose mission is to provide transportation tickets, as well as psychological, spiritual, and health support to children with cancer and their families in Quintana Roo who are being treated in hospitals in Merida, Yucatan, Chetumal, Mexico City, and Queretaro. It brings us great satisfaction to be a small part of this, by donating linens and providing day passes to children with cancer.
